I put down the gun, picked up a pen
and reinforced my intelligence positively
My God is pleased with me

I no longer sleep around, looked at my reflection
realised my self worth and found true intimacy
My God is pleased with me

I now refuse to conform to the ways of this world
delighting in this self fulfilling prophecy
My God is pleased with me

And as I indulge in this poetic baptismal
and cleanse myself sin free
I stand fearless and say

My God is pleased with me!
